Position: Digital Marketing & Sales Associate
Work Location: Dwight, ON with some remote work
Position Overview
We are looking for summer staff to work alongside us on the land, foraging, in kitchen production at markets and in our educational programs to capture photos and video of our work and create engaging social media and marketing content to assist in the expansion of sales. This role is best suited for a creative self-starter who is flexible, adaptable and has good communication skills.
This is a contract position funded through the IION’s Skills Development Placement Program (SDPP). Applicants must meet the requirements of the program to qualify for this position. https://www.iion.ca/sdpp
Responsibilities
- Capture high quality photos and video of products, foraging and at classes
- Manage editing and organize files for efficient use
- Photographing subjects, such as events, landscapes, products, and people in indoor and outdoor setting
- Upload files and build out product listings and blog content on our Shopify online store
- Develop content to increase community engagement online
- Work together with owners to create compelling content to increase sales and expand our market
- Work alongside the team foraging, gardening and land based work, working in our commercial kitchen, helping with land projects and at markets where needed
- Operating different programs and technological equipment, such as Canva and Photoshop
- Research potential retailers for our products and make initial sales contact with support from owners.
Qualifications
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to stay motivated and the willingness to work independently as well as in a team
- Being structured, detail-oriented, organized, reliable, and highly responsible
- Excellent prioritization and time management skills and the ability to satisfy the needs of the business
- Being open to new ideas and the ability to work cohesively with an assistant or team
- Has access to a quality camera and laptop computer
- Working knowledge of social channels (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube) and digital editing software such as Canva and Photoshop
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Flexibility and strong analytical skills
- Ability to kneel, crouch, bend, walk, stand, and sit for long periods
Compensation
- 16 weeks starting May 4th to August 22nd
- $17.20/hour for 37.5 hours/week
- Somewhat flexible hours and ability to work remotely part of the time
- Paid personal and professional development including a three-day paid retreat
