Wild Medicine Work Trade Application

FEBRUARY 7th UPDATE! Work Trade available as Wait List Only. I've received an overwhelming number of applications. Any applications received after February 7th will be considered only if a space opens up.

We are looking for several amazing folks who want to earn their full tuition to the program through 50 hours of work. This work will be all related to sustainable living on our permaculture homestead or helping produce products for our growing wild foods business. These will be amazing learning opportunities in themselves.

We have need of several hard working and hardy individuals for land based grunt work and wild forest wandering. Duties may include foraging, garden labor, moving firewood, trail clearing, etc. You must be comfortable and capable of working outdoors in all weather. We have several weeks we have scheduled during our busy times at the end of April/beginning of May, June & September. We are somewhat flexible to have people here to complete their work trade hours outside of these periods, but all days will be discussed and scheduled prior to start or program. There is the option to rustic camp onsite at our homestead during these work periods and the lake nearby is perfect for after work swims!

We are also looking for work traders interested in fulfilling their 50 hours as a kitchen apprentice. They would help produce Wild Muskoka Botanicals products at our Wild Foods Lab in downtown Huntsville. This will be a great hands-on opportunity to learn in-depth how to make syrups, shrubs, bitters, spice mixes and to pick my brain about all things plants as we work in the kitchen. Work hours would be weekday but will be coordinated individually. Food prep experience an asset. This position would be best suited to someone living in the local area.

I will be accepting applications until March 4, 2018. By the middle of March I will contact all applicants and let them know if they have been selected for a work trade position in this years program. If you have any further questions please feel free to email me. Looking forward to sharing some Wild Medicine with you this summer.
