Mushroom & Cocoa Bitters

Add a dash of bitters (5-20 drops) to your favourite cocktail, mocktail or soda water.

Bitters are a traditional cocktail ingredient made of bitter and aromatic herbs infused in alcohol. Used as only a few drops per drink, they are the ‘salt & pepper’ that brings out flavour and character to your beverages.

The prohibition era collapsed the thriving bitters industry. Until the early 21st century the selection of bitters was extremely limited.

Our WILD BITTERS are a part of the movement to bring back craft cocktails. We use wildcrafted ingredients and high-quality organic herbs in our bitters. They are formulated using traditional herbal knowledge and attention to providing flavours applicable to modern craft cocktails. Because they are alcohol extracts bitters will last for many years, but over time the flavours will change. Enjoy your craft bitters!

Wild Heart Spritz

• 1 cup almond milk (or milk of choice)
• 1 tablespoon raw cacao powder
• 1 Tablespoon pure maple syrup
• 1 dropper Mushroom & Cocoa Bitters
• ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
• Pinch of fine sea salt

Instructions

1. Combine all of the ingredients in a saucepan over medium heat, and stir, using a whisk to break up any lumps. Keep stirring until smooth and piping hot.
2. Pour the hot chocolate into a mug right away and serve warm. Top with coconut whipped cream, Mushroom & Cocoa Bitters and chocolate shavings, if desired, or any other toppings you love.
